Stevens’ GT Extension Labs

Personalizing the Educational Trajectory for Our Scholars

The Stevens GT Center maximizes giftedness by helping students discover their passion through real world, project based learning. All too often we have witnessed the tragedy of unused potential among the ranks of GT students. Disenchanted with the traditional approach to educating GT students, the Stevens GT team has adopted student-centered methods that elicit creativity and promote higher level thinking.

Identified GT and talent pool students participate in primary or intermediate STEAM labs, where they receive advanced core instruction in literacy and math, along with project based learning rooted in STEAM concepts, every day.

GT students cultivate whole school culture norms that advance inclusivity with diverse learners, in their homeroom classrooms.

The Stevens STEAM Labs use technology resources such as TinkerCad, 3D printers, LEGO education sets, and Sphero Balls to work on projects that are designed for students to collaboratively analyze, problem solve, and think creatively.
